KabasphMoisture curing polyurethane resin systems cure through the reaction of isocyanate groups with atmospheric moisture. They are widely used in coatings, adhesives, sealants, waterproofing membranes, flooring, and elastomeric systems due to their excellent adhesion, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and low-temperature performance. However, formulating with moisture curing polyurethane systems presents unique challenges: CO₂ generation during moisture curing can cause air entrapment, bubbles, and pinholes; skinning and curing inconsistency may occur under varying humidity; pigment settling and floating, insufficient substrate wetting, surface defects, and foam generation can compromise final coating quality. In addition, additives must not adversely affect curing speed, activation period, storage stability, or reactive isocyanate chemistry.
